I am first-generation American and in 1994, during the height of the Yugoslavian war, my parents took me to New York City where we went to see the corner of 40th Street and 6th Avenue. A new street sign had recently been erected by the city to honor Nikola Tesla, and my parents proudly explained to me his contributions to science and engineering. Although at the time I did not fully grasp the significance of his inventions, it struck within me the chord of opportunity. An immigrant with my heritage came to the United States and effectively redefined the landscape for manufacturing—it was my first taste of entrepreneurship.
Throughout my career, I firsthand experienced the effects of rapid scale innovation and have developed a sensibility to effectively manage a product’s lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment, to testing and iteration. I have worked with diverse global teams as a consultant at MasterCard and have led engineers at bootstrapped startups in every stage of product development.
No matter the project, I ask “why was this decision made-- and how do we make it better? Scalable? More sustainable?” My background in engineering offers my clients a dependable framework for logical, organized thought, while the right side of my brain kicks in to apply creative problem-solving that truly makes a difference in marketing solutions.
